Kulttuuriyhdistys Naava ry. is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing through arts, culture, and community-based activities.
We believe that culture is not something people simply observe, it is something they live, share, and grow through. Naava creates welcoming and inclusive spaces where children, families, and communities from diverse cultural backgrounds can meet, learn from one another, and build a sense of belonging together.
Our work is rooted in multicultural exchange, with a special connection to Latin American cultures. Through creative programs, participatory events, movement, music, and storytelling, we support wellbeing, social inclusion, and healthy development.

The Story of the Name Naava
Naava is a lichen that grows slowly in old forests, only where the air is clean and the environment is balanced. It takes time to form, but when it does, it becomes a living symbol of purity, resilience, and deep connection.
We chose the name Naava because it reflects our values:

- respect for nature and people
- community built over time
Just like naava in the forest, our association grows through trust, care, and connection creating space for many cultures to coexist and thrive side by side.
